I wish there was a way to end Slavery.
The reform came about because people were suffering, and it wasn't fair that people were working against their will. Before the reform many people worked on plantations in the south. There they tended to the crops and were servants and had harsh living conditions

People who were part of the reform spoke out and attended meetings to learn about people's lives who were once slaves like Fredrick Douglass. Others published newspapers. Still others revolted to try to help end slavery. These actions helped lead to the civil war which eventually ended slavery in the south. Fredrick Douglass spoke out about his life as a slave before he escaped. After slavery officially ended slaves were free to live haw they wanted and do what they please. Some former slaves stay with their previous owners and were paid laborers while others found work on the railroads
