  • The first time the family and the Ghost met, he was walking through the corridors. His eyes were red. His white hair was thick and dirty. He was wearing old fashioned clothes. Heavy chains were hanging from his wrists and ankles. Mr. Otis calmly told him to please put some "Rising Sun American Lubricator" or else he will wake up the rest of the family with all that noise. The Ghost ran dawn the corridor, making horrible sounds. Suddenly another bedroom door opened and the twins appeared. They trew their pillows at him. The ghost of Sir Simon de Canterville disappeared through the wall and went to his secret room. He was very angry.

  • 'Welcome to Canterville Chase' said Mrs. Umney. Suddenly Mrs. Otis saw a dark red stain on the floor next to a bed. 'What's that mark?' she asked. 'It's blood' replied the old housekeeper. Mrs. Otis told her to remove it, but Mrs. Umney told her that it can't be removed and she explained ' It's the blood of Lady Eleanore de Canterville. Her husband Sir Simon de Canterville murdered her in that exact place in 1575.' Washington said that the fact that the stain couldn't be removed was nonsense and then he proceded to clean the mark with 'Pinkerton's Champion Cleaner'. But every morning the stain was there again.

  • On Sunday night the Ghost tried to frighten them again, first he tried to get into an armour but he coudn't he just made noise. Then he decided to startle them with his most terrible laugh but Mrs. Otis came calmly out of her bedroom and told him 'I'm afraid you are not well. You must have a bad stomach-ache. Take this medicine. It's made in America. It's excellent for indigestion'. He had failed again. He was very upset. For some days he was very ill. He did not leave his room except to put back the bloodstain that Washington kept removing. But when he felt stronger, he decided to haunt the Otis family for a second time.
  • It was the night of a Friday 17th August. The Ghost made his plans. He dedided to startle all the family except Virginia, because she was the only that didn't laugh at him. He was walking through the corridors when suddenly he saw another ghost. He ran back to his room trembling in fear. But when he soothed himself he retuned to the corridors. There he descovered that it was a false ghost. Suddenly he understood. This was a trick! The twins had made a fool of him. The old Canterville fury returned to him. He promised to have bloody revenge. But he was so tired that he went back to his room and climbed inside a comfortable old coffin.
  • For days and weeks the Ghost tried and tried to frighten the family, but the parents were indiferent and the brothers were unbearable. They tied strings across the corridor so that he fell over. They put butter on the stairs so that he slipped. And one night he was dawnstairs wondering where were the Lord Canterviilles paintings. And as he walked towards the library, two dark figures jumped out of a corner. 'BOO!' they shouted in his ear. In a panic, the Ghost ran up the stairs. Washington was waiting for him with a large garden pump in his hands. In desperation, the Ghost jumped into tha fireplace and escaped up the chimney to his room. After this nobody saw him again.
