  • What's the difference between weight and mass? Well mass is made of matter or particles this doesn't change no matter where you go, it is measured in kilograms. Weight is the gravitational pull where you are and on earth that is 10 N/kg, weight is measured in Newtons.
  • Hi! I'm on earth! My mass will always be 41kg but my weight on earth is about 410 N! Because Earths gravitational pull is roughly 10 N/kg
  • Did you notice the gravitational pull on the moon is less than it is on Earth? That's because Earth is bigger than the moon meaning its gravitational pull is larger.
  • Me again! I have made it to the moon! On earth I weighed 410 N, here I weigh 81 N because my mass is 41 kg and the gravitational pull on the moon is 2 N/Kg.
  • Woo Hoo! I'm on top of the world! Fine I'm just on top of Mercury but that's still pretty cool! As you know my mass is (and always will be) 41 Kg but my weight is 164 N because the gravitational pull on Mercury is 4 Kg/N, it is slightly bigger than the Moon but not quite as big as Earth
