- Mattie and Weaver were at Emmie's Hubbards place, since that's where Weaver's mama was staying. While Emmie was making tea and checking up on Weaverds mom, she asked the two if they wanted tea. Both Weaver and Mattie were shocked to see how well Emmie was doing as the last time they saw her she was a mess.
- Hush, weaver
- So is EMmie's place getting auctioned?
- Weaver moved to the bed were his mama was at asking her if she was feeling good, after everything that had happened to her. Which was the three men that fought Weaver breaking into her house and attacking her. Emmie then walked into the room and dropped off some tea for Weavers mom.
- I know, son. We will.
- But Mamma, we have to talk about it
- Mattie was watching Emmie Hubbard put pie and tea on the table for everyone including her kids. Stil Mattie was surprised how well she fixed herself up.
- I didn't think anybody could ever shape Emmie Hubbard up
- Unmeaningly Weaver brought up Emmie's land being auctioned off. Weaver's mom told him to be quiet, but he decided it was important for them to talk about it. SInce if it is being auctioned off then that means his mom can't stay there for that long.
- Weaver kept going on about how he wanted to talk about the matter, but his mama did not want the same, as Emmie was not that far away and she didn't want her to hear.
- After Weaver and Mattie being at Emmie's hubbards house they leave to go back to the glenmore. They continued to talk about how well fixed up Emmie is and how it was possible for her to be in such good shape.
