This story is about how the French and the Chinese tried to colonize/control the Vietnamese making them work in slave-like conditions but what ended up happening was the Vietnamese used their knowledge of the terrain to outsmart the French and the Chinese and escape.

- Lets start a revolution/ uprising against the French.
- A young white man named, Alexandre de Rhodes has arrived in a Vietnamese village. The Vietnamese don't know his true intentions.
- Ok lets start the uprising tomorrow. But for now we have to play it cool.
- We know this way too. Ok!
- This is when the Vietnamese notices that the French naval force had arrived on their shore into Vietnam.
- This way is the path to freedom. I know this path.
- The Vietnamese have become enslaved to the French and are asked to perform cruel tasks like slavery. Vietnam had become colonized by the French.
- We escaped because the French underestimated us and the power of the mind.
- The Vietnamese are planning an uprising/revolution.
- The Vietnamese are escaping and using their knowledge of the terrain to escape the French.
- The Vietnamese have escaped the French rule and are now happy because they escaped. The reason why they escaped is because the french underestimated them.
