- The past month has been a time of mass chaos all around the world. All this chaos is due to the coronavirus. The coronavirus was a virus believed to have started in China and has spread globally. The area most impacted has been the United States with over 350,000 confirmed cases over 200,000 more than any other country.
- My fears became a reality when it was announced that we would be off from school for awhile. I was really disappointed but I understood that it was the right thing to do. As a senior I wanted to finish the year normally and experience the things the other senior classes did but the coronavirus took that opportunity away. Over the past 4 years I have made a lot of great friends and countless memories and I just wanted to make a couple more memories before we all head off to college.
- Going to St.Anthony’s means you're going to have friends from all over the island and sometimes school is the only time we can all see each other. Being quarantined means that the only way of talking to our friends is facetime. Though the facetime calls are fun it is not the same as being together in person. Being an only child I try to be with my friends as much as possible and not being able to hangout with them is an adjustment.
- The days of March 11th and 12th for me was like living in a nightmare. Those days saw the NBA, NHL, MLS, and the MLB suspend play. The N.C.A.A. canceled all of its championships, including the men’s basketball tournament. Sports make up most of my entertainment and without it I am finding myself to be really bored. The playoffs were coming up and March Madness was about to start and now I'm sitting here watching reruns of games I've seen countless amounts of times.
- At the beginning of quarantine I was sick and the doctor said I had pneumonia. It was not fun, I laid in bed for about a week trying to get better. Over that week I slept a lot and just tried to get better as soon as possible. I am very grateful that my parents took excellent care of me.
- I hope we can return to normalcy soon. I miss living in a world where we did not have to wear masks to go outside and were not trapped inside our houses. I miss watching sports and having fun hanging out with my friends. I miss going to school and having a good time. I just hope this pandemic will be over soon and life can return to normal.
