Kari lives in a pavilion under thatched roof.Kari needs 40 pounds of twigs to chew play with.
A 9 year old boy had a 5 month old elephant named KARI.Nearly 2 years they grew together.
Everyday the boy takes kari to water for bath and he rubs sand over his body. Kari enjoys bathing and after a long bath, he would come out with pleasure and shining skin.
One,day when Kari was resting in river, he made a strange sound and the narrator( boy ) came running and saw kari. drowning. He helpless. The narrator jumped in to the river. There he saw a boy who was a bit touched to the sea bed. The narrator saved the boy and kari helped to bring them up.
One day somebody fed Kari some ripe bananas and ever since then he developed a great love for bananas.
The next day there were some bananas in dining table.. After some time they disapperead. The family blamed the serrvants the boy.Then later they came to know it was kari. The narrator states that he trained kari to sit and stand. To sit it took 3 weeks to learn it.
