- King charles took to the throne in 1625 after his fathers death. Charles l believed in the divine rights for kings just like his father. He ignored all laws and started a war with the parliament in an attempt to gain full control.
- Restoration of the Stuart Monarchy
- The war was between the king and the parliament to figure out which role they would each play in governing England. Parliament was victorious in the end.
- Glorious Revolution
- shortly after he took to the throne he was later found guility of treason and was excecuted in 1649 after his war against parliament.
- English Bill of Rights
- Oliver Cromwell ruled until his death in 1658 but during his time he restored the monarch with Charles ll but that didnt mean the work was over because parliament kept the power they had earned therefor becoming a huge part in the government.
- A group of nobles invited the dutch leader William Orange in order to invade England. Willam started preporations to invade england but after james realized his inetentions they had already started to march towards london. James responded by sending his own army. Its now known as the Glorious Revolution because there was very little bloodshed.
- The English Bill of Rights was created based on the rule of law, which mens that everyone has to follow all laws even kings and queens. It also gaves parliament the right to be elected.
