- Charlie West wakes up in a room, strapped to a chair, with no memory of how he got there, why he is there, or anything relevant to the situation. He feels as if he has been tortured, and as he trying to figure out his situation, two voices outside conversing about something Charlie is trying to figure out. He hears a couple names, including his own. While they talk, Charlie discovers a sharp section of a the chair, and begins to devise his plan of escape before guards enter the room.
- One Year
- Charlie manages to cut one of the straps off of his leg with the damaged section. Soon after, Charlie manages to escape through a window. He begins to remember glimpses of the previous day, which includes a karate demonstration, getting the phone number of the girl he likes, Beth, but this is short-lived. With the guards closing in, Charlie decides to enter a cave to escape them.
- Police
- After traversing through the dark, wet cave, with nothing but a keychain flashlight, Charlie returns to the surface to find a young girl. He wonders how she is alone out here, until her mother swiftly returns, and is terrified of Charlie, as he has a gun. Charlie insists that he isn't hostile, discards the weapon, and requests a return to civilization, and for her to call the police. She complies, and they drive home in her car.
- The Bridge
- After Charlie arrives at her house, he has more flashbacks. He remembers his an argument with his best friend Alex, thus ending their friendship. Before he gets cleaned up, he asks the woman to call the police. He then takes a shower, and tries to remember more from the previous day. While exiting the shower, he finds a calendar and sees that the date is still the same day, but one full year since the last day he remembers.
- Briefly after, he hears sirens, and walks outside to investigate. As he opens the door, there is a police force outside, who detain him. Charlie meets a man named Detective Rose, who informs him he is under arrest for the murder of Alex. Before being taken into prison, he escapes due to help from a unknown individual, who alludes that someone is going to try and kill the Secretary Yarrow of Homeland Security. After his escape, he is determined to stop this attack on Yarrow.
- Once he arrives at at bridge where Secretary Yarrow will drive over in an escort, he waits to observe anything unusual. A Secret Service agent, revealed to be Orton then executes his colleagues, and opens the trunk of a car, to reveal a bomb. Charlie attempts to subdue him, in which a duel occurs, where the two karate trained combatants fight for supremacy over the remote. Charlie gains the upper hand, just as the convoy containing Yarrow arrives. The agents fire at Charlie, who then proceeds to escape for a third time, dedicating to taking down the organization that imprisoned him.
