The Giver - Plot Slideshow (pt. 2)

While Jonas is doing his training with The Giver, Jonas explained how his father did releases on the newchildren. Jonas had never seen an actual ceremony of release so, The Giver showed him the release that his father did that morning. While watching, Jonas realized that is father injected a syringe into the newchild's forehead, which he had never told Jonas about while he did a release. Jonas also noticed that once injected, the newchild had stopped moving. He realized that "release" had been murder this whole time. Jonas was horrified.
Climax
He killed it!
After figuring out what release really was, Jonas and the Giver come up with a plan for Jonas to escape the community to release the memories to save the community and Gabriel. Jonas brings Gabriel, a newchild that his father had been nurturing who was in danger of being released, with him to escape. While finding a way to help release the memories, they run out of supplies and it starts snowing. Jonas used his memories of warmth to help him and Gabriel in the snow. Then, Jonas finds a sled and they ride it down a snow hill that leads them on the ground.
