- I was bored of hunting animals so I hunted something else.. Ivan, more wine please
- I will provide you with a supply of food, a hunting knife, and hunting clothes
- You hunt humans? That is not hunting, that is murder! I will not go and hunt against or with you!
- The Exposition is the story happens when Rainsford hears 3 gunshots while on the yacht and goes to get a better look but falls into the sea instead
- Climax: Point of Interest
- The rising action is when Rainsford swims onto "Ship-Trap Island" and meets General Zaroff who lives in a giant mansion in the jungle. Upon arrival, he is greeted by Ivan.
- Falling Action: Events Following the Climax
- The conflict is that General Zaroff hunts humans because he is bored of hunting animals. He wants Rainsford to join him. If Rainsford wins. he will get to go back to the closest town. In order to win, he has to escape the general for 3 whole days.
- Resolution: Tying the Story together
- Rainsford starts the hunt against the General. He sets many traps such as the malay man-catcher and the Burmese tiger pit. They play the roles of "cat and mouse", letting the prey remain free for a while. Rainsford Kills Ivan and a hound, but not the General.
- Arfffff
- Rainsford forced himself between 2 rocks as he was running from the angry pack of hounds. He saw the shore and across it he could see the chateau. Thinking it would be quicker to swim he jumped into the sea leaving the General to believe he left the island.
- NERVE, NERVE, NERVE!
- When the General goes to bed, Rainsford comes out behind the curtain and kills the General. Rainsford tells General Zaroff he is "beast at bay" meaning he is now the hunter and Zaroff is the prey.
- I'm still a beast at bay!
- One of us is to finish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in this very excellent bed. On guard Rainsford...
