- The Philosophy of Baron de Montesquieu
- You are in France of course. It is the year 1748 during the Enlightenment.
- Whoa! Where am I?
- What does that mean?
- The Enlightenment is the time period where we see an intellectual and philosophical increase in our ways of thinking. I'm Montesquieu, one of these philosophers.
- We're using Rationalism to make our reasoning more accurate and scientists have developed the Scientific Method and Inductive Reasoning to come up with better proof for their conclusions.
- Wow!
- So what ideas have you had?
- I've just written a book called Spirit of the Laws . It's about Separation of Powers, or how the government power should be divided into three branches so that no one has too much power.
- That sounds like the government where I'm from! Anyways, I've got to get home now. It was nice to meet you!
