- At the battle of Trenton, four soldiers were wounded. Also there were twenty Hessians killed and 100 wounded while 1,000 were captured. This advanced the Continental army to winning the Batlle of Princeton and eventually winning the war.
- The British surrendered at Yorktown, Virginia, in 1781, the Americans had basically won their independence.
- The colonists were happy that they weren't ruled by Great Britain.
- The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776 by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams.
