  • The Great Gatsby
  • The Great Gatsby is a very diverse story, it has death, love, and drama, a typical American novel, what more could you want? This book is all of American literature summed up into one. For now, I will be explaining the scene of the murder of the main character, Gatsby.
  • This scene features two people, Wilson, who is a local mechanic, and his wife, Myrtle. Wilson had caught onto Myrtle cheating with another man, she would not tell Wilson who she cheated on him with. At this point it just gets him more mad that she is dragging on the argument.
  • In this scene, Myrtle is so upset that she runs out of the house. Neither Wilson or Myrtle thought anything of it other than just two adults mad at each other. Little did they know what was going to be coming later on after that fight.
  • In this scene, you can see that the driver of the car, Daisy, and Myrtle aren't paying attention. This causes the death of Myrtle and the devastation by Wilson. Daisy just keeps on driving, causing a hit and run situation.
  • There are two men in this scene, the one sitting down who is Wilson, and the one standing up who is Tom Bucannon. Tom was the person who had an affair with Myrtle, which caused the argument and lead to the death of Myrtle. Tom tells Wilson that Gatsby had the affair with Myrtle and that Gatsby was driving the car that hit Myrtle. He did this just to make sure that Wilson doesn't suspect him.
  • Wilson goes to Gatsby's house to take care of the business that was spread to him by Tom. He ends up shooting Gatsby and also taking his own life afterwards. Nick, Gatsby's neighbor, hears two gunshots but suspects that it is most likely gang related material that he doesn't need to be a part of. In the end, Gatsby had died for everybody's mistakes.
