  • In October 1789, thousands of Parisian women made demands that the National Assembly should provide bread by taking action. These women then started to riot the streets with knives, axes, etc.
  • Execution of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette
  • The Declaration of the Rights of Man is a document that is one of the most important papers of the French Revolution. The document explains that every man on earth should be granted to equal rights.
  • Rise of Napoleon
  • In 1793 the Reign of Terror took place. Radicals took over the Revolutionary government. They took control by arresting and executing anyone who they thought wasn't entirely loyal to the revolution. This was a very violent period of time.
  • Fall of Napoleon
  • On January 21, 1793 King Louis XVI was sent to the guillotine. Marie Antoinette had her trial begin on October 14, 1793. Two days after that she was convicted of high treason and was sent to the guillotine as well.
  • Napoleon Bonaparte quickly rose through the ranks of the military. During the French Revolution he seized political power and then he crowned himself as emperor in 1804.
  • In 1814 Napoleon was forced to retire his throne after allied Prussian, Austrian, and Russian forces conquered his army. He was exiled to the island of Elba but escaped to France attempting to bring up a new grand army but he did not succeed. Then he was exiled to the island of Saint Helena off the coast of Africa.
