- Apollo is frustrated that king Midas voted for Marsyas.
- Apollo curses king Midas with donkey ears.
- King Midas is very embarrassed about his new appearance. He finds a way to hide his donkey ears by covering them up with hats.
- King Midas reveals his donkey ears to his barber. King Midas makes his barber promise not to tell anyone.
- The barber is nervous because he knows an important secret but he can't hold it in anymore.
- The barber went to the top a mountain, digs a hole and whispers his secret. Little did he know his words echoed through the whole kingdom.
- Soon everyone knew the king's secret. Moral of the story: Never choose a satyr over a powerful god.
