Lincolns abolish of slavery sent southerners into an outrage as many ex-slaves were getting jobs that they considered to be taking the place of white men. This didn't stop the Southerners from yet again trying their best to put the black community beneath them. They fought the abolitionist of slavery by stating that it would impact the economy of the south a great deal.
