It's winter now, and I've become bald. As we can observe the wood frog is currently frozen, so how is it alive? Well the wood frog uses its own urine to prevent it's cells from losing the water they need to function. Cells are one of the 8 parts of life, and the wood frogs preserves this crucial part in an amazing way. The wood frog proceeds to enter homeostasis where its body is balanced well. 2/3 of its body shuts down to conserve energy. It stores this energy until water arrives back into its cells essentially bringing it back from the dead. It's suspended, frozen in time waiting for spring to arrive, as it's body waits patiently, perfectly.

Its spring now, and I'm taking a dip the river. The wood frog has thawed reacting to the stimulus of heat. Water has now returned to the cells of the wood frog. The stimulus has triggered its organs to restart, and its body to move again. Now that the frog is moving again it can go do other things that life brings. The wood frog may choose to find a mate and reproduce bringing baby wood frogs into the wild.
