- Gladiator is a American-British film by Ridley Scott. The main actors are Russell Crowe as Maximus, Joaquin Phoenix as Commodus and Connie Nielsen as Lucilla.The story begins in 180 AD, when the Roman Empire is at its height under the reign of Marcus Aurelius. Maximus Decimus Meridius, a brilliant Roman general, leads a decisive victory against the Germanic tribes. This triumph makes him a favorite with the emperor, who chooses him as his successor, rather than leaving the throne to his own son, Commodus. But Commodus, thirsty for power, murders his father before he can announce his decision. He then orders the execution of Maximus and his family. Maximus manages to escape, but is captured and enslaved. Becoming a gladiator, he distinguishes himself by his skill and courage, while nourishing a burning desire for revenge. Chaining together spectacular fights in the arena, Maximus wins the favor of the people. When he is brought to Rome to fight in the Colosseum, he confronts Commodus, now emperor. The rivalry between the two men reaches its peak in a final battle where Maximus manages to kill Commodus, but succumbs to his wounds, becoming a heroic figure and a symbol of resistance in the face of tyranny

- The music of the film is written by Hans Zimmer live. Hanz Zimmer composed the music for all these films.The recording of an entire series of Gladiators was completed in just one month, usually during the summer. Two performances were filmed each day, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, in front of an audience of around 7,000 at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.AHMAD! OMG.It's so good and too much impressive. Gladiator is a monumental slap, the best peplum that exists to date. A film that is unmatched in my eyes, which made me love cinema. 2h35 that follow each other without any worries, no length shows its nose. Russell Crowe is incredible in the role of Maximus (simply the role of his life). A real beast of charisma who steals the show, with a Joaquin Phoenix who is far from being left behind (and it is quite an achievement). The staging is neat in all respects (photography, shots, breakdown of the fights), the music of Hans Zimmer is sumptuous (and that is an understatement): the composer simply delivers his best soundtrack, a grandiose mix between the epic and the lyricism. Just like the film, it is unforgettable. The screenplay is very well written, with interesting themes that make Gladiator an intelligent blockbuster, beyond being a great story of revenge and a delicious tragedy with Greek airs. The masterpiece of the peplum, the apogee of Ridley Scott! A film to see and see again!!! Unmissable! My favorite film!!!!!!
