Freddy's day to day life

- Freddy is a fox that lives on an island and eats apples from the trees there. He can jump 7 feet up into a tree to get an apple, but a lot of times it is out of his reach. So he has to do math to see if he could get to the apple or not.
- Freddy sees an apple in a tree, and thinks about if he can get it or not. He looks up at the apple with an angle of 60 degrees, and is also standing 5.77 feet away laterally. So he uses trig to find how far up the apple is. He finds tan(60) * 5.77 = 10 feet. Since he can only jump 7 feet into the air, he cannot get this apple and walks away disappointingly.

- Freddy wants to know the width of the river using trig. He knows that the angle of elevation from the other side of the river, to the top of a tree near him is 15°. He also knows that the length from the edge of the other side of the river to the top of the tree is 15.53 feet. Lastly, his distance to the edge of the river is 4 feet. What he does to find the width of the river is cos(15)*15.53 = 4 + x. Which is also 15 = 4 + x. This means that the width of the river is 11 feet.

- It is now night time, and Freddy really wants to eat dinner. He sees an apple in a tree and tries to do some trig to see if he can get to the apple. He knows that the apple is 6.1 feet away from where he is standing right now, and when he looks up at it, it creates an 80 degree angle.  So he does sin(80) * 6.1 = 6 feet. He finds out that he can in fact get this apple.

- It is now the next day, and Freddy wants to eat breakfast. He sees an apple that is 6 feet from the ground, and it is 5 feet away from him laterally. He wants to find out what the angle of elevation is between him and the apple. So he does arctan(6/5) to get 50.2°.
