  • When will this end!
  • We are forced to work long hours in the fields during the day, and receive minimal payment for our labor.
  • I'm so hungry.
  • Peasants like me are expected to pay taxes to the local nobility, the church, AND to the crown!
  • The Fall of Bastille (July 14th, 1789)
  • Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen- "Men are born and remain free and equal in rights."- "Law is the expression of the general will."- "A common contribution is essential for the maintenance of the public forces and for the cost of administration."
  • I don't have to pay you anymore!
  • After the signing of the Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen, we enjoy some new liberties, but are still limited in comparison to the higher classes. King Louis XVI has been dethroned, which has influenced the end of the constitutional monarchy. Our taxes are now based on income, which for me has increased due to the new price controls, which helps to avoid inflation. We also now enjoy more say and power within the new government.
