The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a civil rights protest during which African Americans refused to ride city buses in Montgomery, Alabama, to protest segregated seating.

  • You are under arrest!
  • After a long day of working, a woman named Rosa Parks was exhausted and was ready to go home.
  • December 4, 1955
  • This is outrageous!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • As Rosa Parks entered the bus, she decided to take a seat in the front of the bus. This was uncommon since she was an African American Female. A white man rudely asked her to move, and Rosa Parks did not want to move at all.
  • December 5,1955
  • The police escorted her off of the segregated bus and arrested her for refusing to give up her seat to a white man. 
  • December 20,1955
  • YAYYY JUSTICE!
  • The NAACP and the African American community came together and decided that it was time for a change. They decide to boycott all public transportation.
  • We should do something!! 
  • A BOYCOOTT!!!!
  • December 5th is when the community decided to start the boycott. Instead of using public transportation, they walked.
  • The government was loosing a horrible amount of money due to the boycott. They decided that segregation on public transportation was unconstitutional. The boycott ended!
