- Hephaestus was the blacksmith for the gods and the god of fire.
- Dionysus was the god of wine, theatre, and festivities. He was the youngest of the major gods and the only one born to a mortal.
- Zeus is the god of the sky, lightning, and thunder and ruler of all the gods on Mount Olympus.
- Hera was queen of the gods, wife of Zeus, and goddess of love and marriage. She also created the peacock.
- Ares was Zeus and Hera's son and was the god of agriculture and war.Athena was the goddess of wisdom, professions, the arts, and war.

- Aphrodite was the goddess of love, family, victory, and beauty.
- Demeter was the goddess of agriculture and of the seasons.
- Apollo was the god of music, poetry, and archery. His twin Artemis was the goddess of the hunt, archery, and animals. Her symbols included the moon, snake, and bow.
- God of the sea, brother to Zeus and the patron of horses. Poseidon's weapon was his powerful trident.
- God of trade, wealth, luck, and travel. Hermes was often pictured with winged sandals, a winged cap and carrying a caduceus (staff).
