- On August 16th, 1958 Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone was born in Bay City, Michigan.
- She was the third child out of large family of six siblings. Her sister and her were singled out by being surrounded by her four brothers. She learned many lessons by being the middle child and used her femininity to get her way. Madonna was the "sissy of the family"
- By age 30, Madonna's mother passed away due to breast cancer. This was a very difficult time for her especially at five years old to encounter. But she saw this as an opportunity to break away any unspoken rules.

- She was upset from these shortcomings she had encountered... but it led her to a brighter place.
- Madonna took this timely death as an opportunity of rebirth for her own voice. Without her mother's in put she was free.
- She was able to speak more freely of her opinions and passions. Later on in teenage years, she would join in a band her boyfriend was in at the time: Dan Gilroy
- She became the drummer of his, and several different bands during her time not going solo. Eventually, she made the decision to fly on her own.
