What will he think!!??
In the exposition we meet Della and her husband James and they live in a cheap apartment and it is Christmastime. This is the exposition because we meet the characters and the setting.
Della cuts off all of her hair just to buy James gift and she receives $20 for doing it and she buys James a chain for his watch which was very special to him because he has had that watch handed down for generations. This is the rising action because we want to know what will he think of her hair nd the gift it builds up suspense.
Della buys the chain for James' watch and is shocked to realize he sold his watch so he could by her a pack of combs she has been wanting for a long time. This is the climax because Della sold her hair which she loved and he loved for her to buy him a gift and James sold his watch which he loved and she loved for her gift and this is the turning point of the story.
James tells Della that they should no longer worry about the gifts and just relax on Christmas. This is the resolution because James dosent really care if he got a gift tor not and same with Della so they just forget about it nd resolve the issue.
