- Zeus Decided to throw a big crazy wedding for Peleus king of Agina and Thetis who was a sea nymph
- He invited all the gods and goddesses
- but He Did not invite Eris the goddess of discord which pretty much made her the partypooper
- This Made Eris VERY VERY VERY VERY Angry
- She sneaked in and brought with her a golden apple
- She threw the apple that was inscribed with kalliste which meant the prettiest one in the middle of the wedding
- This insued a battle between the goddesses
- Aphrodite, Hera, And Athena Asked who is the prettiest? To which Zeus said
- I Will not answer this
- Take Hera Athena And Aphrodite And the golden apple down to Earth for Paris To decide
- Paris had to make the decision of who was the prettiest knowing this was a hard to decide each goddess offered him something in return for picking them
- If you say I am the prettiest i will give you extreme wealth and you will be the ruler of the world-hera
- If you say I am the prettiest i will make you the bravest and wisest of Mortals. I will make you Victorious in war and Skillful every craft.
- If you say I am the prettiest I will give you Helen the daughter of King Tyndareus and the most beautiful women in the world. Aphrodite knew she was the wife of menelaus king of Sparta but she didn't care
- Being the young man that Paris was he awarded the apple to Aphrodite
- Cause Helen was a really good looking and I mean really good looking
- This caused both Hera and Athena to hate and despise the Trojans
- This explains a lot
- Soon Aphrodite set everything in motion that she promised Paris so that he could Convince Helen to run away with him forever
- But Helen did leave her kids behind Boo!!!!
- Moral Of the Story: When you have a wedding just invite everyone and you won't have to worry about silly wars
