  • Treaty of Paris
  • William Pitt became the prime minister and and the Secretary of State. He was hoping that Britain would win and wanted to do whatever he could to win. Britain got the best troops, generals, and naval squadrons to the colonists. Britain went into deep dept, but they ended up winning the war because of all the money that they used.
  • Britain and France fought for a long time, but eventually, the British won. They defeated France and won all of the land in North American that was east of the Mississippi river, but the native Americans and colonists weren't happy. The native Americans lost their allies with France and were stuck with Britain who didn't treat them well. The colonists were angry because they were being taxed from all of the military costs and all other costs of the war.
  • When the war ended, the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1763. It forced the French to give their land east of the Mississippi all the way to Great Britain, to Canada, and the land west of the Mississippi river, to Spain. Britain received Florida from one of France's allies, Spain. France ended up keeping only four Caribbean islands.
  • Because the native Americans were angry that they weren't getting paid to use their land and that other colonists were settling on their land, the native Americans started revolting against the British and killed some of the colonists. To try and remove conflict, King George III made the Proclamation of 1763. This made colonists not be able to settle the west of the Appalachian Mountains.
  • A lot of colonists owed shares in land companies, which angered them because they couldn't settle on the west of the Appalachian mountains. The colonists were forbidden to cross, but this just created more tension between Britain and the colonies. The colonists went across the border anyway, and the Indians had to trade with the British and Colonists even though they disliked both. All this tension ended up being really the start of the Revolutionary War.
