הבנת התמכרות יכולה להיות מושג קשה. מרבית האנשים רואים את ההתנהגות השלילית של שימוש בסמים ומתייגים את אותו אדם כ"רע "או" חלש ". משתמשי תרופות רבים אינם מסוגלים להתמודד כראוי עם לחץ, והגורם הבסיסי עבור חלק מהמתעללים בסמים עשוי להיות הקלה מיידית של גורמי לחץ. מעגל ההתמכרות יכול להיות קשה לשבור.
בפעילות זו התלמידים ייצרו לוח התכנון המדגים את מעגל ההתמכרות . עליהם להיות בטוחים לכלול תיאור של כל שלב ולקבוע מתי הזמן הטוב ביותר לשבור את המחזור. בדוגמה של לוח התכנון שלמעלה, הזמן הטוב ביותר מצוין כשלב "מערת שימוש", אולם זה לא תמיד המקרה עבור אנשים.

הפגינו את הבנתכם כיצד לשבור את מעגל ההתמכרות על ידי יצירת לוח התכנון.
- לחץ על "התחל הקצאה".
- השתמש בפריסת מחזור תאים עם כותרות ותיאורים.
- רשמו את חמשת השלבים של המחזור בכל אחת מתיבות הכותרת.
- בתיבת התיאור של התא, הסביר בקצרה את מה שמתרחש בדרך כלל במהלך כל שלב.
- ציין את ההזדמנות הטובה ביותר לשבור את המחזור בתיבת התיאור המתאימה.
- כתוב הצהרת השתקפות קצרה בתיבת התיאור בגין אשמה / בושה.
- הדגימו דוגמה חזותית לכל שלב בתאים בעזרת שילוב של סצינות, תווים ופריטים מתאימים. אל תאר את השימוש בפועל בתרופה.
- שמור והגיש את המשימה.
