What is Anthropology?

Hi everyone, my name is Kamila! I'm in my second year at Valencia. My major is nursing.

Before the lesson, I had very little knowledge of what was cultural anthropology. I only knew that it focused on learning different cultures, foods, traditions and more. I did not know that it focused more on humans beings!
My perception of anthropology did in fact change. By the end of the lesson, I was able to gain so much knowledge on the real meaning of anthropology.

After the lesson, I was able to understand that we are going to be learning about others beliefs on social and material worlds. Also how those affect human actions. Overall we will be studying anything that has to do with humans.
I liked how they mentioned that anthropology is used to solve human problems, which I didn't know. I also liked that anthropology always assumes that each society is constantly changing as time goes on. People change depending on cultural contexts, economics, and political matters.
I found very interesting that there are different anthropological perspective. Relativistic, Empirical, Adaptational, Comparative, Holistic. Each one brings an interesting point and all come together and form Anthropology and what it focuses on.
