- CROPS OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH
- Hi! I am DENZELI, and I am going to take you through the Cardamom farms of Arunachal Pradesh.
- The crops in Arunachal Pradesh are usually grown in the higher hilly areas, Big Cardamom is the most famous of them. Cardamomis planted during April-May
- 1. Preparation of soil
- We in Arunachal Pradesh, prefer Large Cardamom to be grown using Contour Farming (a runoff prevention technique).If the field is sloppy, contour terraces should be made and pits should be taken along the contour.
- 2.) Sowing Of Seeds
- As an understory plant, cardamom prefers humus rich soil, slightly on the acidic side. Sowing of seeds is done approximately 1/8 under fine soil, keeping the medium evenly moist.
- We make sure the soil has enough moisture level all the time(at least 45–50%). Overhead irrigation process is best suited to Cardamom plantations.

- We generally prefer the organic / green manure, which has our leftover herbaceous crops.
