-Linux is practically an alternative to Windows, and has many versions today. Moreover, Linux is not only present in computers, but also in many electronic devices and servers that use it as a base for their operation.
-In Linus Torvalds' own words, he says that he created this system called Kernel by accident, he was programming a tool to communicate with a server, but it turned out that he had created a system that was able to communicate with the computer hardware in an effective way; this system was the missing piece of the operating system created by Richard Stallman called GNU. Today it is known as GNU-Linux.
