- One of the ways of grabbing the audience's attention as a way of introducing my presentation is to talk about the issue of trauma-informed care and explain to them why it is an essential issue in child welfare. I use an example of a child misbehaving in school to grab the audience's attention. I then proceed to explain what trauma is and use examples of what it entails, such as abuse, neglect, and being taken away from home.

- In the middle part of my presentation, I talk about how trauma affects the brain and the behavior of the child, including the fight, flight, and freeze response. I also talk about how behavior is a form of communication, how the focus has changed from “what’s wrong with you?” to “what happened to you?” and briefly talk about the main principles of trauma-informed care.

- Finally, I explain the significance and importance of trauma-informed care and how it helps the child to build up his/her strength. At the end, I remind the audience that as future social workers, we should be understanding and empathetic.
