Many people moved to different places to escape famine there in Ireland. Besides that, many died due to starvation
Before the potato famine, potato was the main food everyone eats. It didn't need much care for it to grow.
There's plenty potato for the city! Today was a super great harvest!
Many moved to America or Great Britain to live a better life. But some were unlucky and moving there didn't helped
In 1845, a fungus like microorganism called Phytophthora infestation causes the serious potato diseases known as the potato blight. It affected badly on the potato crops for the following years.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE POTATOES!!!
The potato blight affected everyone and the economy. Many people actually use the cropped potato to pay their rents, but because of the Phytophthora infestation, many couldn't pay rent. Leading them to be kicked out of their apartments. Farmers couldn't go fishing to provide food for the citizen as well as they didn't have any potato to eat leading them to starve and have no energy.
