- Rainsford is competing against General Zaroff in the hunt.
- Man vs Self
- Rainsford falls into the water off of the ship into the Caribbean Sea. He has to swim to shore and struggle against the water.
- Rainsford has to decide whether or not to jump off the cliff into the unknown ocean or else be killed by General Zaroff and his dogs. He decides to jump into the Caribbean Sea.
- General Zaroff has nothing left to hunt because the sport has become too easy for him. Then, he comes up with the idea to hunt humans because they match his reason and will be a challenge to hunt.
