- I am leaving a suburban town in Italy. I don't like where I live so I've decided to start a new life in America.
- This is the industry I work at. I don't get paid much and I don't like my job. I want to go to America because there are a lot of jobs there. I want to have an opportunity to be a wealthy man. (pull factor)
- The trip was rough. I managed to get a first class ticket, but it was still crowded. Many people got sick, but I got away. I didn't get sick, and I was lucky. It was not a good voyage.
- Finally, I've arrived.
- I arrived at an Immigration station called Ellis Island. I was really happy to get off the ship that I was on after that long voyage.
- I had to wait for a long time and someone told me I had to get checked to be able to enter the United States. They let me in so I was lucky.
