  • Hamlet's hubris is shown when he chooses to follow after a ghost, even when persuaded and begged not to by his two most trusted friends and advisors.
  • Hamlet's hamartia is when he is commanded by his father's ghost to avenge his cruel and unnatural death, as this leads to the death of Hamlet and many others.
  • Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder
  • Hamlet's peripeteia happens before the play begins, when his father dies. Prior to this his life is great and he is the happy prince, and then tragedy strikes and he is left with no father.

  • Here, Hamlet shows his anagnorisis as it is his first time he is unsure about the outcome of what he has agreed to, and realizes he may not be good enough to win.

  • Hamlet's catharsis is during his death, as though he tried and succeeded through many of his struggles in the play, in the end he is human and dies like everyone else.
