This is a Man vs. Man conflict since Mistress Cutler fires Lyddie from the Tavern and it is external. Textual evidence for this conflict is on P#44, where it states, "'So! You have decided to honor us with a visit!' The Mistress's face was red with heat or rage. Behind her Triphena grimaced an apology. She stood in the doorway, trying to frame an excuse or apology, but as usual the words did not come quickly enough to mind. 'You're dismissed! the woman said."
This is a Man vs.Self conflict since Lyddie is having a conflict with herself whether she should keep working in the Tavern, or go and be a factory girl. Textual Evidence for this is,"She was lying, Lyddie was sure of it . No girl could make that much money in a week's time...But still, how had a farmer's daughter bought a silk dress?"(P#25-26).
This is a Man vs Society conflict since Lyddie's roommates are in a conflict when Lyddie tells them that she has been hanging out with Diana. They are all against Diana. Textual evidence for this is,"'I don't know just Diana. She was very kind to me today. 'Diana Goss?' echoed Amelia. 'Oh Lyddie, don't be taken in... 'If it's Diana Goss, 'Prudence said, 'she's a known radical."'
