טקסט Storyboard

  • Newton's First Law states that an object remains at rest and an object that is in motion maintains its velocity unless an unbalanced force acts on it. In this example, the tennis ball remains at rest, this is called inertia. Inertia is when an object remains unchanged.
  • This law is also known as the law of inertia. In this scene the ball is in inertia until the tennis player hits the ball. The tennis player is the unbalanced force acting on the ball.
  • The ball is now accelerating due to the force applied to it, known as net force. The net force controls how far and in which direction the ball travels.
  • Newton's second law of Motion states that the unbalanced force acting on an object is equal to the object's mass times the acceleration. The formula is F=ma. In this example people are playing volleyball. The harder the player hits the ball the further the ball goes.
  • The ball did not accelerate far enough to fly over the net because the player did not push the ball hard enough.
  • The volleyball player pushed the ball harder this time than the time previously, and it went over the net. It was able to accelerate far enough to go over the net because it had enough force.
