As you can see, everyone is hard at work preparing for the next Canadian Federal Election! Today, I'll be taking you kids to tour the house of commons.

That's a great question! A political party is a group of organized people who have the same values and ideologies about how the country should be run. There are many different parties, all with different leaders and ideals.
There are 343 seats in the House of Commons. To form a majority government, a party need at least 172 seats (50%). This will allow them to govern the country, as well as elect the prime minister

We need many different parties to accommodate many different people. People who have different values and needs will support different parties, based on their campaign
For example, if someone were looking to buy their first house, they might supoort the liberals, who have promised to dedicate $76 million to affordable housing
