- After taunting George, Tom make Myrtle his mistress follow him and Nick into the city.

- Once in the city Tom takes them to his apartment and they all had a party with the McKee couple and Myrtles sister.
- After Myrtle starts talking about Tom's Wife Daisy after multiple warnings Tom Slaps her and breaks her nose...

- One day Jay Gatsby's chauffeur delivered Nick an invitation to one of Gatsby's lavish parties.

- After feeling out of place at Gatsby's party Nick runs into Jordan Baker and her friend Lucille who says that Gatsby was a German spy during war.

- Nick and Jordan go outside to watch entertainment when they are sitting with a handsome man he recognizes Nick and he introduces himself as the Jay Gatsby
- Nick becomes fascinated by Gatsby and observes him intensely.

- During this drive to the city with Gatsby and Nick, Gatsby tells nock about his past life and lists his accomplishments

- After lunch with Gatsby Nick sees Jordan and she tells him what her conversation with Gatsby was about at the party and has some realizations of his own.
