- All the boys and girls were settled down in Assembly, the Trunchbull marched on the platform. None of the other teachers came in with her.

- The boy stood to one side. His plump flabby face was turned white with fear. He knew exactly what this was about, and was frantically thinking about how he would handle this situation.

- Out came an old, wrinkly lady, with a dirty apron on. She was carrying a giant, round, chocolate cake. The cake was so big, the cook was struggling to carry it. All of the children were very confused now. Had the Trunchbull forced the cook to poison the cake, and now they were all going to have to eat it?
