- Woah, I would not be able to stand living like that, I understand why you left. It's nice to talk to someone who isn't brainwashed. But listen, kid, you're not going to find any freedom here. If you want to be free, find someplace else. You're lucky you didn't run into the Ticktock man.

- Why? What do you mean? This place is filled with color and life! It's nothing like the community.
- Not exactly... Here, we’re bound by time. There’s a bogeyman called the Ticktockman. He controls the time you have left to live, and he’ll take time away if you’re late. If you’re ten minutes late, you lose ten minutes of your life. Everything here is perfectly scheduled, everyone’s in a rush. We’re not allowed to live in the moment. I refuse to live that way. That’s why I dedicate my time to disrupting the system. I mess with their schedules to show them how ridiculous it is.

- I see now... we're alike. We both disagree with the way the system works where we come from. You fought against time, and I fought against sameness. But in the end, we both wanted freedom. Maybe we met for a reason.
- As the Receiver of Memory, had to hold all the memories of the world’s past, the joy and the pain. I carried the weight of history, knowing what people had lost to create sameness.
- I purposefully waste time, deliberately arriving late to events to show everyone how the system manipulates us. I break the rules to make people question the system. What’s the point of living if we’re just slaves to time?

- Where I’m from, everything was controlled, no choices, no emotions, no color. Every day was the same, no mystery, no surprises. The community enforces something called Sameness, where everyone is treated equally in every way. At twelve, you’re assigned a role, and you’re expected to follow that path. I didn’t know what it was like to feel true happiness or pain. I never even knew what color the sky was, until I was chosen to be the Receiver of Memory.
