  • Who is there?!
  • The narrator is a resident of the old man's home. He looks after him every day. He adores the elderly gentleman. The old man's vulturous pale blue eye, on the other hand, is something he can't help but be bothered by. With this concept in mind, he devises a scheme to murder the elderly man, which is aided by his lunacy. The cops arrive shortly after the murder to investigate.
  • Climax
  • Self (Narrator) vs. Man (Narrator): The narrator is at odds with himself. He convinces himself that he isn't insane by acting as though his behaviors are more premeditated than a crazy person's. But it only demonstrates that he is one. The eve Itself, described as "Dale blue with a film over it," is a symbol of his ack or sanity. Old Man versus. Man (Narrator): The narrator, on the other hand, has no hatred for the old man. He despises the elderly man's single-colored eve, which he refers to as a "vulture eve." The eYe lays out his "crazy" scheme to get rid of himself or the man's eye. Finally, the narrator's reaction to the cops is triggered by the beating of the elderly man's heart.
  • Falling Action
  • The narrator continues to look for the old guy for seven nights, but every night he creeps up to his chamber and opens the door. Then he slowly opens the lantern's lock, revealing only a sliver of light in the old man's eye. Every night, though, the "vulture's eye" is shut. On the ninth night, though, he repeats the process, but with greater caution than usual. With a triumphant and whispered chuckle, the old guy is reawakened as he cautiously unlocks the door. The storyteller, on the other hand, does not flee but simply waits. The elderly man then lets out a terrifying groan. The narrator then lets a slimmer light shine through the lantern after a period of time or waiting.
  • Resolution
  • As the narrator becomes enraged, the ray shines on the old man's vulture eye. He then hears the elderly man's rapid and thunderous heartbeat, which grows louder and faster with each passing instant. The narrator is concerned that the sound will be heard by the neighbor. So, in an instant, he decides to kill the old guy by dragging him and dragging the heavy bed over his body, suffocating him. The narrator then "cleverly" dismembers the old man's body and hides it beneath the Planks or in the man's chamber.Falling action
  • -
  • The police officers arrive at the narrator's house after he hides the body under the planks and cleans up all the blood in the room. Officers were dispatched after a neighbor heard a cry from the house and reported it to the police, who suspected foul play. The narrator opens the door for them. He believes his calm and cheerful demeanor has persuaded them. As a result, he encourages the officers to stay and rest, even inviting them to sit in the exact area in the old man's chamber where he hid the body.
  • The narrator hears a faint and dull ringing while they are conversing. The narrator becomes increasingly paranoid as the noise grows louder, assuming that the police officers are aware of everything. He can no longer bear the noise and the officers' "nice" smiles. Finally, he admits to his crime and demonstrates where he put the body, shouting, "Villains, please! No more deception! I'm the one who did it! —rip the planks apart! —here, here, here! —it's the pounding of his monstrous heart!"
