- Without it, the individuals with disabilities would not get the proper resources or be introduced to the general population
- Workable?
- The least restrictive environment is a principle in education that promotes inclusivity in the classroom settings.
- Inclusion in the classroom is workable when the proper channels are in place to coach teachers and staff members. There's a discrepancy in the amount of teachers training to work with the disabled population.
- The inclusive classroom prepares students and staff alike how to interact with one another in the classroom and the real world.
- The IEP team that makes determining factors on placement, accommodations, and goals are the student, their family, and the teachers and other school staff. This is important in creative a workable inclusive environment as all people must be heard to benefit the student and classroom asa whole.
- All stakeholders must work together to produce a working and equitable climate for infused classrooms.
- When admin, staff, and family are on the same page regarding inclusion practices, the better they will perform.
- The inclusive model increases the amount of time students spend in the general population
- The inclusive classroom redeems itself not only in the classroom, but in the everyday lives of people living with disabilities.
- While students with moderate disabilities have been placed in more inclusive environments, that is not the case for students with more profound disabilities.
- There are still several steps needed to make inclusion more equitable in education.
