When I first met my husband, he commented on how shocked he was that I worked at NASA because it is so “taxing”. Can you believe it! John was acting on the sociological concept called norms. During this time it was normal to be housewives and stay at home with the kids.
It was also not the norm for a black woman to graduate college at a white institution with being both eighteen and with honors.

The ending of the film was beautiful because viewers were able to see all three women reach the goals that they wished for at the beginning of the film. However, I wish viewers were able to see Mary Johnson working as an engineer at NASA after her graduation. Specifically, I wanted to see Mrs. Johnson working side-by-side with the man who encouraged her to go to school at the beginning of the film.

Although Marwa did touch on the outgroups and ingroups, it is also important to reiterate that power is a sociological concept. It is portrayed clearly when my dear friend Kathrine was advised not to credit herself when writing documents by her coworkers because “computers do not sign reports”.
