- Macbeth trevels to the witches' to see what effects Fleance has on his prophecy, and if he will take the crown.
- It is wrong to give into temptation
- The witches spawn three spirits that give Macbeth three new prophecies that assure him.
- When in power, people will do anything to maintain it
- As Macduff's suspicions rise, he builds an army to fight against Macbeth's powers.
- Violence leads to more violence

- Macbeth hears about Macduff's attempt to dethrone him, and decides to hire two more assassins.
- The assassins take out Macduff's family while they are vulnerable.
- News gets back to Macduff about his family which angers him. Macduff now declares vengeance of Macbeth.
