- Factories emitted chemicals into the air due to the extensive amount of coal use. The air pollution led to serious health problems for the commoners.
- European countries worked with other countries. Resources were exported from other countries such as Africa. They obtained cotton, gold, coal, diamonds, palm oil, and coffee.
- The telephone is one of the many inventions that were created during this time. The revolutionary invention gave birth to a whole new type of communication.
