- Herot and his warriors lived happily on a beautiful plain. Him and his people were always joyful and glowings
- grendel got tired of their happiness and joy so he decided to make them as miserable as he
- so when the night came Grendel would snatch and slaughter the warriors
- when Hrothgar came in the morning to check on the warriors he discovered that they were slaughtered and the land was covered with them
- After night after night more warriors would be slaughtered and Hrothgar was devastated because he couldn't much about it since nobody couldn't stop Grendel
