After wrestling to a tie, Gilgamesh(on the left) and Enkidu(on the right) shake hands and become friends.

Many years later...
Nooooo! Why did you have to die, Enkidu! I will find the secret to immortality so I can bring you back to life!
After going on many adventures together, Gilgamesh and Enkidu return home but along the way, Gilgamesh rejects a goddess. This angry goddess sends down the Bull of Heaven but Gilgamesh and Enkidu quickly defeat it. So, as punishment, the gods kill Enkidu and Gilgamesh vows to become immortal so he can bring back his friend.

Many, many years later...
You know what? I can't literally become immortal so let me make my story one of a good king and then make that story Immortal so my name can live on.
Gilgamesh returns home from his quest for immortality having failed but once he lays eyes upon his city again, he realizes that he himself cannot be immortal but his name can become immortal through the legacy he leaves behind. So, he decided to start doing good deeds.
