- Today we are going to be learning about the 4 stages of the growth law
- Come along as we go step by step.

- Societies go through 4 stages in creating there legal system, first of four is revenge.
- The second stage is Reward. To resolve an issue what's called the sovereign listens and resolves disputes between the people, they then force the injured parties to accept goods money etc. as a substitute for taking there revenge.
- Individuals are allowed to take revenge for wrongs done to them, but can only be done through personally punishing the wrongdoers.

- The third stage in the growth of law is systems. The sovereign creates a system of courts and gives them the choice decide different disputes, but the sovereign still had power over important matters. the fourth and final stage is Authority. The sovereign works only to resolve disputes after they happen, instead of that they work to prevent breaches of peace before they happen. They do this through enforcing a set of laws and matching punishments.
